Allison Hilger

Dr. Allison Hilger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. She joined the university in 2020 after earning her Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University and gaining clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Hilger directs the Colorado Motor Speech Lab, focusing her research on motor speech disorders, particularly ataxic dysarthria. Her work investigates how prosody is affected in neurological conditions, and how auditory feedback mechanisms contribute to speech production. She is also known for co-developing the Colorado Motor Speech Framework (CMSF), an assessment tool designed to aid in the diagnosis of dysarthria.
